Badlands, Hitting the Wall and 4 Dudes in the Black Hills

somehow this post got deleted/out of order…sorry if I am confusing you–we are definitely back and done with this trip! should be read after the Mall of America post…

After the Corn Palace we we’re off through more of the boring flat part of South Dakota but it didn’t take long to begin seeing some changes to the land.

The Badlands were what we needed to get a little spark going in our energy. Did some walking snapped some pics, climbed some rocks and stood on our hands a little bit!

We worked up an appetite after we did the 25 mile loop through the Badlands so we decided to hit the Wall–the town and the infamous Wall Drug Store. We ate at the cafe and jumped back on the road to make our way to the Hills to see about these 4 guys…

Tony has handled the drive with this RV like a pro. The twists and turns up to Mt. Rushmore would have done me in…but he was and continues to handle “His” trip.

The 4 Dudes and the Black Hills

The scenery into the Mt. Rushmore area and he monument itself were a lot of fun. Did a lot of walking and climbing, picture taking and memory making. This was Reagan’s dream spot since she had read about it and done a little “report” this last year in 2nd grade.

Tony suddenly wasn’t feeling so great…having some feverish spells and pain in lower right abdomen…should make for an interesting night at camp. We got a little rain after we settled in but we made the best of it with Riley’s first attempt at grilling our burgers, cards, a brief fire and a movie night–Karate Kid!! Time for Motrin and rest for our driver!

gotta look for those rainbows….
